Short of the GT350, the 2018 Mustang GT will be one of the fastest muscle cars on the market when it arrives this autumn. After its mid-cycle refresh showed off visual changes and new technology back in January, we’re learning about its power numbers and technology. Among these are hardened racing components, a quiet exhaust system, and more power for the Coyote V8.

Rocking a standard six-speed manual, the Mustang GT will arrive with 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. While this is sure to provide a blistering 0-60 time on its own, there is equipment you can add to get there in under four seconds—such as the optional ten-speed automatic transmission and GT Performance Package. A MagneRide Damping system similar to the one found on the GT350 is on the menu, as well as the Active Valve Performance Exhaust. With the latter feature, you can enable a “Quiet” mode, which dulls the road of the engine as needed.

The 2018 Mustang GT is all about having fun and pushing the limits—with plenty of ways to make it your own. Contact our Ford dealership in Houston, TX at your convenience to schedule your test drive.
