Safe? You bet. The 2016 #F150 is the toughest, smartest, most capable and safest F-150 ever. https://t.co/Vt9mvSkJMD

All Ford vehicles equipped with SYNC 911 Assist can call emergency services for you automatically whenever you are in an accident.
Just calling for help isn't all that Ford vehicles can do to protect you in an accident. The 2016 Ford F-150 in particular has just earned some bragging rights this month, after earning the only IIHS Top Safety Pick in its class.
You might think, "Of course the F-150 is safe -- it's a truck," but don't be too hasty.
In the small-overlap-crash test conducted by the IIHS, all eight other full-size trucks received a rating of "Poor" in injuries measured from test dummies in the driver's seat. In real life, that would be you. Yikes.
"Drivers in these pickups would need help freeing their legs from the wreckage following a small-overlap crash," said Raul Arbelaez, vice president of the IIHS Vehicle Research Center.
He recommends other truck manufacturers "redesign their pickups to resist intrusion in the lower occupant compartment to safeguard people from serious leg and foot injuries that might require months of rehabilitation."
Again -- yikes.
We've never been prouder of our trucks. If you're nervously checking the safety rating on your car (and we don't blame you, we're having heart palpitations writing this article), consider visiting Mac Haik Ford Inc. to test out a supremely safe pickup.
